Was named Chief Executive Officer for Raycom Sports in 2016. Nickell is an accomplished leader in sports media, digital platforms, event sponsorship and content development. Nickell has been a guiding force throughout his career, including Sports South, FOX Sports, SPEED, IMG College and Mulberry Street Media Company, LLC.
While at IMG College, Nickell and his team oversaw partnership management in multimedia, digital platforms, licensing, ticketing and seating that generated over $400 million in revenue. While President of SPEED, the team grew revenue to $300 million and distribution to over 80 million homes, in addition to launching SPEED on Demand, SPEED.com and SPEED 2, a digital streamed video product. While at FOX Sports Net, he and his team established digital brand extensions, a multi RSN agreement with the Southeastern Conference, and a national deal with FOX Sports Net, Raycom Sports and the Atlantic Coast Conference to launch ACC Sunday Night Hoops for men’s basketball.
Nickell attended Denison University in Granville, OH, was president of the student body, played hockey and lacrosse while graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications. He is a member of the National Motorsports Appeal Panel and the marketing council for USA Hockey. He and his wife Kim live in Davidson, NC.
Joined Raycom Sports (Jefferson-Pilot Sports) in 1986 as Vice President of Production. His experience included working for the Lorimar Sports Network, where he served in the same capacity. An alumnus of Ohio University’s School of Sports Management graduate program, Rayburn holds a bachelors degree from the University of Tennessee.
Joined Raycom in 1992 as Manager of Event Planning and currently handles all scheduling and coordinating of televised basketball games with ESPN, CBS, FOX Regional Sports Networks and Raycom syndicated games. He also manages many of the event operations of the company and plays a key role in product acquisitions. An alumnus of Ohio University’s School of Sports Management graduate program, he spent a year in the University of North Carolina Ticket Office before joining Raycom.
Joined Raycom Sports (Jefferson Pilot Sports) in 1993 as Producer, promoted to Coordinating Producer in 1999, and to Executive Producer in 2012. His experience includes ACC and SEC football and basketball telecasts. Prior to joining Raycom, he was Executive Producer of WLWT-TV Sports in Cincinnati, producing Bengals and Reds programming. Reichley holds a B.A. in history from Dickinson College.
Joined Raycom in Sports in June of 2016 from First Coast News/TEGNA Media in Jacksonville, Fla., where he served as Vice President-Station Manager and Director of Sales since 2014. Lancaster was with Gannett for over 20 years, starting as account executive at WFMY in Greensboro, N.C. before moving to WUSA in Washington, D.C. He moved back to Greensboro in 1997 as local sales manager and then national sales manager at WFMY before being named vice president of sales in 2011. Lancaster is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received a B.A. in political science.
Joined Raycom in 2007 as Manager of ACC Marketing and was named Director of New Media & Marketing in 2009. He currently oversees all web and mobile initiatives for Raycom and the ACC Network, in addition to managing the ACC Digital Network. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and is an alumnus of Ohio University’s School of Sports Management graduate program. He worked at Boston College prior to joining Raycom.
Joined Raycom Sports (Jefferson-Pilot Sports) in 1988 as Accounting Manager and was named Director of Finance after Raycom’s purchase of JP Sports. Named Controller of Raycom Sports in 2012. Experience includes working for JP Communications as Planning Assistant. Smith holds a bachelors degree from Randolph College in Lynchburg, VA (formerly Randolph-Macon Woman’s College).
