Havoline Football Saturdays in the South Spotlights South Carolina Head Coach Steve Spurrier, Maryland All-American Joe Vellano and Road Trip Heads to South Beach

Charlotte, N.C. – Raycom Sports’ multi-Emmy Award-winning summer television series, “Havoline Football Saturdays in the South,” continues its ninth season this weekend.  The series, with six one-hour episodes, is syndicated in 77 markets throughout the country.

This week’s show features host Tim Brando sitting down for an in-depth interview with South Carolina Head Coach Steve Spurrier. The “Head Ball Coach,” just ten wins away from becoming the Gamecocks all-time winningest coach, talks about changing the culture and expectations since arriving in Columbia. In addition, Spurrier discusses his past coaching experiences, what led him to South Carolina, and where his coaching success ranks in the history of college football.

We then travel to Rexford, New York to spend time with the family of Maryland senior defensive lineman Joe Vellano. His father, Paul, was an All-American for the Terrapins, and Joe has followed in his father’s footsteps. See how the family lives by the credo of friendship, family and football in this close-knit community.

Finally, Tommy Kane and the Road Trip crew get a bird’s eye view of South Beach as they go skydiving while visiting the University of Miami for gameday.
