ACC Road Trip Driven by Chevy Begins Fourth Season
of Bringing Excitement of ACC Football Experiences to Fans
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Raycom Sports announced today that Chevrolet has signed on as the presenting sponsor for the award-winning ACC Road Trip. Beginning Saturday, September 1st, the ACC Road Trip Driven by Chevy will tour around the ACC with cameras to capture the pageantry of college football with a focus on fun-filled gameday activities. The segments will be featured during the ACC Network studio show, ACC Blitz, beginning September 8th. They are also available on the web at www.theacc.com/roadtrip.
“We are very pleased to announce that Chevrolet has become our partner for ACC Road Trip Driven by Chevy,” said Jimmy Rayburn, Chief Operating Officer of Raycom Sports. “ACC Road Trip has become a very popular series with the fans, and we are excited to move forward this season with Chevrolet as the presenting sponsor.”
“We think the ACC Road Trip is a great fit for Chevrolet and we’re looking forward to integrating our family of Chevrolet vehicles into the program,” said Tom Gilbert, Chevrolet Regional Marketing Manager. “We want to give fans a chance to experience the ACC “game day” excitement first-hand, through the front seat of a Chevrolet.”
ACC Road Trip takes fans to a different ACC game to take in the entire “game day” experience, as they check out the campus hot spots, local restaurants and best tailgate adventures. Plus, host Tommy Kane takes a unique, up-close and often comical look into the pageantry and game day traditions that makes ACC football so great.
From rubbing Howard’s Rock and running the hill with the Clemson Tigers, becoming a “glitter guy” at Florida State, streaking “The Lawn” at UVA, and camping out overnight with the Cameron Crazies, Kane has taken the cameras with him to share the ACC experience with fans everywhere.
ACC Road Trip has been honored in the past with two Emmy Awards and several Telly Awards, while host Tommy Kane received an Official Honoree Award for Best Reality/Variety Host in the 2010 Webby Awards.
