ACC FanFest, which is free and open to the public, takes place Saturday, Dec. 6, from noon to 7:00 p.m., leading up to the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game. Thompson Square will perform at 4:00 p.m. and Rice will perform at 5:30 p.m. on the Dr Pepper Stage.

In addition, the Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association award-winning Thompson Square will perform the national anthem prior to the primetime kickoff.

With two #1 smash singles, five Top 15 hits, seven national awards and over 25 nominations (including American Music Award, Teen Choice Award and two GRAMMY nods), Thompson Square is one of today’s hottest Country music acts. The husband/wife duo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson made music history when it earned awards from both the ACM and CMA for “Vocal Duo of the Year” in 2012.  Thompson Square was awarded its second consecutive ACM Award for “Vocal Duo of the Year” in April 2013.

Thompson Square’s breakthrough hit “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” has surpassed two million in sales, was the #1 Digital Soundscan Single for five weeks straight, the No. 1 Country Ringtone for 12 consecutive weeks and the Most Played Song at Country Radio in 2011 (Mediabase). Thompson Square followed that success with the award winning hit, “I Got You,” and critically-acclaimed “Glass.”  Thompson Square’s star continues to rise in 2014 with the #1 GOLD selling heart-tugger “If I Didn’t Have You” and its Top 5 hit, “Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinking About,” both from the duo’s current album, Just Feels Good.

North Carolina-raised Chase Rice played linebacker at the University of North Carolina. Rice’s current album Ignite The Night debuted #1 on Billboard Top Country Albums in August of this year. It includes “Ready Set Roll,” the Gold-certified single. He has released two previous albums, Country as Me and Dirt Road Communion, and co-wrote the number one single performed by Florida Georgia Line, “Cruise.”

After graduating from UNC, Rice took a job as part of the NASCAR Hendrick Motorsports pit crew. He first came into the public’s eye when he was a contestant on the TV show “Survivor: Nicaragua,” eventually finishing second in the running.

Emmy Award-Winning Havoline Football Saturdays Wraps Up Summer with Episode 6 Airing This Weekend

This Week Features Coaching Great Danny Ford, Broadcasting Great Lee Corso, Louisville Linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin, and an All-Day Road Trip to Clemson

Charlotte, N.C. – Raycom Sports’ multi-Emmy Award-winning summer television series, “Havoline Football Saturdays,” concludes its eleventh season this summer with Episode 6.  The series, with six one-hour episodes, is hosted by Tim Brando and syndicated in 92 markets throughout the country.

This week’s show features coaching great Danny Ford. Known as an old school coach, Ford played college football at Alabama, learning the sport from legendary coach Bear Bryant. He went on to become head coach at Clemson in 1978.   In 1981, he led the Tigers to a perfect 12-0 record and the school’s only National Championship. After 11 years and seven bowl appearances, he left Clemson and later became the head coach at Arkansas for five seasons. Visit with Ford on his 174-acre farm outside Clemson as he discusses his playing and coaching career, including lessons learned from Bear Bryant and Clemson legendary head coach Frank Howard.

Then catch up with broadcaster and Florida State alumnus Lee Corso. His high energy personality has made the football historian a pop culture icon for College Gameday. But his story began on the field as a quarterback and defensive back in Tallahassee, where he was a teammate and roommate of future movie star Burt Reynolds. When he retired from coaching, one phone interview set him on a new career path. Hear how he transitioned from coaching to the broadcast booth, and the story behind how his mascot headgear picks became a tradition.

Follow the inspiring story of Louisville senior linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin. Growing up in Atlanta, Mauldin was shuffled through 16 foster homes, often split up from his siblings, and had a hard time developing trust in others. Football offered a path to overcome his hardships and inspire others to do the same. Eventually attending Louisville, Mauldin found a home with a caring support group, including his teammates, staff and fans. Hear from the player who is not only on the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list, but will graduate in December with a degree in communications.

Finally, our Road Trip crew wakes up at 3:00 a.m. in the morning to fully experience gameday at Clemson. Host Tommy Kane gets a lesson tailgating and leads the pregame parade in a custom Clemson fire truck. After kickoff, T-K works the crowd as a member of the Clemson Central Spirit Flag crew.

Charlotte, N.C. – Raycom Sports’ multi-Emmy Award-winning summer television series, “Havoline Football Saturdays,” continues its eleventh season this summer with Episode 5.  The series, with six one-hour episodes, is hosted by Tim Brando and syndicated in 92 markets throughout the country.

This week’s show features Miami Hurricane great and ACC Digital Network analyst Clinton Portis. After a rough childhood in Gainesville, Portis was helped on the right path by his high school English teacher. He enrolled at Miami, and set a Hurricane freshman record with 838 yards rushing. As a junior, he ran for over 1,200 yards, helping Miami to an undefeated season and the 2001 National title. He was drafted by Denver in the 2nd Round of the 2002 NFL Draft. After two seasons with over 3,000 rushing yards, he was traded to Washington where he finished his career as the second-leading rusher in Redskins history. Portis talks about escaping the tough neighborhood to become an All-Pro and how the murder of teammate Sean Taylor inspired him to focus on his legacy beyond the football field.

Visit with Syracuse junior safety Durell Eskridge, who has become a leader for the Orange. Growing up in Liberty City outside Miami, Eskridge faced many hardships, including a period of living on the street. But he learned to appreciate the little things in life, and to make the most of opportunities. While working at Richardson Mortuary, he saw the hard realities of drugs and violence take the lives of friends.  Inspired to beat the odds, Eskridge found a home at Miami Central High School and focused on building a future through football and education.  Eskridge describes his path to Syracuse, where he considers his teammates brothers, and how Hall of Famer and Syracuse legend Floyd Little inspires him to be a role model for others.

Catch up with Pittsburgh’s explosive wide receiver Tyler Boyd, who shattered the Pitt freshman receiving records of Larry Fitzgerald last season. After a stellar high school career in western Pennsylvania leading Clairton to a 48-0 record his three years as a starter, big things were expected of Boyd by the Panthers’ faithful. He delivered, setting school and conference records while being named All-ACC. Boyd heads home to show us how he is preparing for an encore performance.

Finally, Road Trip to Columbia, South Carolina with Tommy Kane for the South Carolina-Clemson rivalry game. T-K checks out the tailgating traditions of the Gamecocks and gets on board the famous Cockaboose Railroad. Then it’s on to the game, where he witnesses one of the great entrances in college football, the Gamecocks’ traditional “2001, A Space Odyssey”.

This Week Features Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney, Duke Wide Receiver Jamison Crowder and Former Wake Forest Standout Linebacker Aaron Curry

Charlotte, N.C. – Raycom Sports’ multi-Emmy Award-winning summer television series, “Havoline Football Saturdays,” continues its eleventh season this summer with Episode 4.  The series, with six one-hour episodes, is hosted by Tim Brando and syndicated in 92 markets throughout the country.

This week’s show features one-on-one time with Brando and Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney. Born and raised in Alabama, Swinney was a walk-on for the Crimson Tide as a wide receiver, earning a scholarship and three letters in addition to winning a National Title as a senior. He began his coaching career at his alma mater before being recruited to Clemson by his old position coach at Alabama, Tommy Bowden. When Bowden resigned midway through the 2008 season, Swinney was named the interim head coach. The interim tag came off after the season. Swinney has led the Tigers to a 52-23 record and the 2011 ACC title. Swinney discusses his coaching career, expectations for Clemson and the ACC, and his friendly in-state rivalry with Steve Spurrier and South Carolina.

Visit with Duke senior wide receiver Jamison Crowder, who set an ACC record last year with 108 receptions as he helped the Blue Devils win the Coastal Division title. He continues to impress Coach Cutcliffe with his playmaking abilities, but it is the impression that he leaves on his sibling that is just as important.  Head home to Monroe, N.C. with the All-American to spend time with his parents and younger brother Jamaris. Born with Down Syndrome, Jamaris developed a close bond with his brother, one that has been strengthened through sports.

And catch up with the former Wake Forest standout Aaron Curry. The Fayetteville, N.C. native was labeled too slow and too small out of high school. But Curry put any doubts to rest about his ability, leading the Demon Deacons to the 2006 ACC Championship. He cemented his legacy by winning the 2008 Butkus Award as the nation’s top linebacker. He was the #4 overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft and played for Seattle and Oakland. During his playing days, he developed a desire to coach. Now Curry is beginning his first season as linebackers coach for the Charlotte 49ers under head coach Brad Lambert, his old LB coach from Wake. Hear what impact he wants to make on his players, both on and off the field.

This Week Features Syracuse Legend Floyd Little, Former Navy Linebacker Brian Stann,
South Carolina Breakout Back Mike Davis, and Road Trip to Pitt’s First Home ACC Game

Charlotte, N.C. – Raycom Sports’ multi-Emmy Award-winning summer television series, “Havoline Football Saturdays,” continues its eleventh season this summer with Episode 3.  The series, with six one-hour episodes, is hosted by Tim Brando and syndicated in 92 markets throughout the country.

This week’s show features legendary Syracuse running back Floyd Little. The only three-time All-American running back at Syracuse, Little helped immortalize the number 44, following Jim Brown and Ernie Davis. He joined those two Syracuse legends in the College Football Hall of Fame in 1983. Little was known as “The Franchise” for the Denver Broncos and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010. He is now back on campus at Syracuse as special assistant to the athletics director. Hear how a conversation with Davis led Little to Syracuse and not the U.S. Military Academy and the reason for his nickname in Denver.

Then learn about the courage of our country’s military through the experiences of former Navy linebacker Brian Stann. After graduation, he was assigned at an infantry officer in the U.S. Marines, commanding the 2nd Mobile Assault Platoon during Operation Matador in Iraq and earning the Silver Star. After returning home, he used mixed martial arts as his outlet for competition, eventually becoming a UFC Champion. Stann now runs Hire Heroes USA, an organization that helps ex-military personnel transition to civilian life.

Head home to Atlanta for a visit with South Carolina running back and Heisman hopeful Mike Davis. The junior ran for almost twelve-hundred yards last season. He is working hard to surpass that total this year and catch his older brother James, former All-ACC back at Clemson. James helped Mike find his way when he used money from his NFL contract to move his family to Stone Mountain, Georgia for a better quality of life.  Now Mike has aspirations to follow his brother’s path into the NFL.

Finally, Road Trip to Pittsburgh with Tommy Kane as the Panthers host their first ACC game.  After visiting the world famous Primanti Brothers for a bite to eat, T-K checks out the sights of the Steel City, including the Duquesne Incline. Then it’s on to the pregame bonfire on campus where Pitt Head Coach Paul Chryst helps build excitement for the game. Finally, Pitt takes the field against FSU and Tommy gets a firsthand narrative of the historic Pitt milestone from ACC Commissioner John Swofford.

Charlotte, N.C. – The ACC Network package of Atlantic Coast Conference football games syndicated by Raycom Sports will be available to nearly 80% of the United States this fall, covering over 90 million TV Households. This includes all Top Ten TV markets in the U.S., and 21 of the Top 25. Only ESPN and ESPN2 reach more households, among all sports networks.

Specifically, 90,822,490 U.S. households, representing 78.4% of the U.S., will receive the ACC Network.

Traditionally, ACC syndicated football and basketball games have only been available on television stations within the ACC geographic footprint.  However, since fall of 2011, the games have also been made available to stations throughout the nation.

Since the ACC Network began syndicating beyond the ACC footprint, the household coverage of the ACC Network has grown from 27 million to 90 million, an increase of 230%.

“Our goal is to continue delivering ACC content to as many fans as possible,” said ACC Commissioner John Swofford. “We are proud of our partnership with ESPN, Raycom and the Fox regional networks. It’s these relationships that allow us to maximize the exposure for our schools and conference.”

“The ACC is one of the most prestigious conferences in the country, with a fervent fan base nationwide,” said Ken Haines, president & CEO of Raycom Sports. “This broad exposure for ACC football and basketball games provides the ACC with the most over-the-air broadcast coverage of any conference in the nation. With our longtime partner ESPN, we are proud to continue to expand the over-the-air television presence of the ACC throughout the nation.”
